L'ouvrage A Meadow of Poppies / Hadiqa ya Khashkhashi est un recueil de poèmes en prose de l'auteur Issak Esmail Issak, compilé et mis en page par Muhammed Al-Marhuby. C'est la suite de My Grandpa’s Garden publié également chez DL2A Buluu Publishing.

Il s'agit d'une édition bilingue présentant les textes en anglais et en swahili. L'auteur a réalisé lui-même la traduction de ses propres poèmes, qu'il qualifie de "traductions libres". L'objectif n'est pas une adhésion stricte au texte original, mais plutôt de transmettre des concepts et des images similaires, en s'autorisant des ajouts ou des omissions qui enrichissent chaque version sans trahir le récit essentiel. Cette approche permet aux deux langues de coexister sans qu'une ne succombe aux tournures de l'autre.

Les poèmes, numérotés de 53 à 104 pour symboliser la continuité avec le premier volume, sont des réminiscences inspirées par les souvenirs d'enfance de l'auteur et ses conversations avec son grand-père à Zanzibar entre 1950 et 1960. Issak Esmail Issak est un dramaturge et écrivain norvégien originaire de Zanzibar, dont les œuvres ont été produites et publiées internationalement.
